Inspired by Nature

At Née de Soie, textiles are part of everyday well-being: getting dressed, resting, and caring for your comfort. Each fiber has its own feel, its own way of meeting the skin, and its own distinctive qualities. We choose noble materials for their softness, breathability, and the sensations they bring, with thoughtful attention to their origins and how they are made.

Silk

Smooth, light, and fluid, silk offers a sensation many describe as a “second skin.” It glides gently against the body and contributes to thermal comfort, making it pleasant to wear in every season. In a shirt, dress, or nightwear, it moves softly with you. Silk is also prized for pillowcases: its smooth surface can reduce the feeling of friction against the hair during sleep. Choose silk when you want a light, enveloping feel against the skin.

Cotton

Cotton is valued for its familiar softness and ability to absorb moisture. It can be a comfortable choice for those who prefer a gentle, absorbent fabric against the skin. Cotton is often chosen for clothing worn close to the body, nightwear, and home textiles.

Linen

Linen feels naturally airy and fresh, especially welcome when you tend to feel warm or perspire. It absorbs and releases moisture, helping create a less stuffy feeling against the skin. Choose linen for its lively texture, freshness, and balance of lightness and structure—in clothing as well as home textiles.

Certified Natural Fibers

Cashmere

Cashmere wraps the body in gentle warmth without feeling heavy. Its delicate touch makes it a lovely choice when you want a cocooning feel with a lighter touch. It brings comfort to moments of rest and cooler days, with a softness close to the skin.

Wool

Wool, especially fine Merino, helps maintain a comfortable feel as temperatures change. It absorbs and gradually releases moisture, which can help reduce a clammy or chilly feeling. Choose wool when you are looking for warmth, breathability, and softness, particularly in pieces worn throughout the day.

Alpaca

Alpaca combines enveloping warmth with a sense of lightness. Its softness and insulating qualities make it a comfortable option in cooler weather, without the bulk of heavier fabrics. “Baby Alpaca” describes a fiber grade; it does not necessarily mean the fiber comes from a baby animal.

Materials with Verified Standards

Hemp

Hemp is distinguished by its natural feel, breathability, and ability to absorb moisture. It may appeal to those who want a fresh-feeling fabric with more texture and character than cotton. Pre-washed or blended with cotton, hemp becomes more supple and feels softer from the first wear.

Our values

Well-Being

Each textile has its own qualities, so the right choice can reflect your needs, your plans, and how you want it to feel against your skin. Silk is often experienced as a “second skin”: its smooth, lightweight surface glides gently over the body and may help reduce friction. It offers a soft, comfortable feel.

Nature

Natural fibers offer distinctive textures and breathability, each with its own feel against the skin. Choosing them can bring a closer connection to the qualities of the natural world. The result is clothing that feels grounded, light, and at ease with the body.

Elegance

Natural materials have an effortless elegance in their texture, movement, and fresh connection to the natural world. When fabric feels soft and comfortable, it is easier to move with ease and confidence. Beauty, comfort, and a sense of well-being can come together naturally.

Conscious Choices

Conscious choices can bring personal well-being, natural materials, and beauty into alignment. Considering how a textile feels and how it is sourced can make getting dressed a more intentional experience. Choosing thoughtfully is part of living in alignment with what matters.
